RoSa vzw is a knowledge center that provides information, documents, and raises awareness about gender and feminism.
The question
RoSa vzw was unexpectedly presented with the opportunity to submit a policy plan for funding from the Flemish government. As a small organization with limited capacity, this fell outside their regular planning. They knew this strategic plan was crucial for securing funding, but they lacked the time and resources to tackle it on their own. That’s why they called on us.
The Approach
The S&L team first thoroughly reviewed all available background documentation to fully understand the organization and its scope of work. They then used proven models to structure the information and identify gaps in the narrative. The process consisted of several sessions with the two directors and a team meeting to gather input and ideas. S&L helped to logically integrate existing activities into the format of the policy plan, with a sharp focus on strategic goals and impact. The actual writing was done by the RoSa team, with targeted feedback and guidance from S&L.
The Challenge
The biggest challenge was the time pressure. The process had to be launched and completed quickly. Our team made room for this and contributed flexible ideas.
The impact
Thanks to S&L’s support, RoSa vzw was able to submit a strong strategic plan. The plan met all formal requirements and successfully framed the organization’s activities within a clear, strategic structure. This not only ensured that they secured the intended grant, but also elevated their multi-year planning to a higher level.
